The Bow Music Conference at the University of KwaZulu-Natal on 24 - 27 February 2016 is put together in consultation with southern African and international bow music researchers. Participation will include academics from a wide spectrum of indigenous musical arts, practitioners and cultural bearers of diverse bow music traditions in sub-Saharan and abroad.

2016 Conference Proceedings

The International Library of African Music (ILAM) hereby announces the publication of the proceedings of the 1st International Bow Music Conference. 

Edited by Sazi Dlamini, this publication is a volume of selected articles presented at the ‘1st International Bow Music Conference’ that was held by the Music Department at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in February 2016. Contributors to the volume include Dave Dargie, Gregory Beyer, Jason Finkelman, Tiago de Pinto and Mariano González, Luka Mukhavele, Bernhard Bleibinger, Jennifer Kyker, Klaus-Peter Brenner, and Andile Khumalo.
